Electronic Apex Locators
We routinely use electronic apex locator to accurately determine the precise location of where the root canal ends and where we ultimately wants to fill the root canal.
An apex locator is a electronic device we use during your treatment to determine the position of the apical constriction (apical foramen). The apex of the root has a specific resistance to electrical current, and this is measured using a pair of electrodes typically hooked onto the lip and attached to the file. When a circuit is complete you are able to hear a beeping sound.
